The cottage for the Morning Program students is home away from home. From the reading loft to the house corner to the comfy pillows abound, there is a nook or cranny for every child to find comfort as they spend their mornings in this little schoolhouse, an old-fashioned nursery school. The cottage at Leila Day is a tradition for many families, where siblings create memories one after the other that they share when they are older. Trust is built here: between children and teachers, teachers and families; and children learn to trust that good-bye can only be for a few hours, not forever; and children realize their capabilities and explore their curiosities, revel in the diversity of their peers and share their own family values and culture. The older children in the class grow as leaders their second year as they show the younger children the ropes, and traditions are passed on, explored and seen with new perspectives each year.
